"Greed" sneakpeek

A lot of people have been asking when the final version of my shortfilm is ready for screening. Just wanted to let you know it's not so far away. It is right now going through the rendering phase and hopefully within a couple of weeks, things will wrap up. You know I'm not the most experienced lighter/renderer so it is a lot of trial and error (aaaaarrgghh#/%!##&!!) and that takes time..
Meanwhile, here's some screencaptures of some of the shots just to give a slight idea of the look and style and also to tease you even more :)
Hang on folks and huge thanks for being patient and supportive!

Hey Alli,

I love the rendering style! It totally fits the mood of your short film. That grain in the renders and that graffiti stuff in the bathroom also add a lot to the atmosphere. Man, I was already blown away by the playblast before. Now seeing these rendertest it's even harder to wait for the final result. Your doing a great job with this renderstuff. Is there anyting you can't do? Maybe a 720 backwards summersault? I bet you can do that too when you set your mind to it :D.

All the best and have lots of fun with this final stage.

MY GOD! this looks amazing! Are you applying all the textures and everything? Love the added grain to it! Is that done in Maya or post? -- I know for sure this will be up in the AM monthly newsletter!! WOW.

You better post this sucker everywhere! I can see this on the front page of CGtalk as well!!!

I'm so impressed with this. Great job man!

I just seen your short. Very impressive. You got a great look out of the render. What did you use to render it with, Mental Ray? The animation is really great too. Good job.

thanks guys!!! sorry for my late reply.. been busy.. eh.. :) u know.. had a short to wrap up :D

Ye I rendered it in Maya Mental ray.. but u know.. I couldnt get the damn rendered to work ( read: I suck!) so I ended up actually painting the lightning in the textures for the rooms. it wored ok since the room isn't movin in reltion to the light. Bishop hd to be lit seperatly since he is all over the place.

The grain and dust and all that is post. I had to take down the grain from what u saw at the sneak shots cuz it kept disturbing while things were moving all he time. It works great for a still but in motion it just kept distracting I thought so I had to take it down a bit.
Ye Im gonna post it to the places I know.. and send it to a few festivals.. lets see what happends.. right now. I need to find a job.. The movie has turned me into a broke man!! :)
