Heading to Walt Disney!

It is now official.

My Visa is finally ready and I am leaving London for new adventures in California to work on Disney's next film, Rapunzel.
My start date is February 1st and have lots of stuff to deal with before I'm on that plane...

I'm leaving many beautiful and amazing people behind and will miss my crew at Double Negative..
At the same time the excitement I'm feeling to finally be able to work with Walt Disney is hard to put in words..

I will keep you posted once I have landed with my feet on the ground. Thank you everyone for your love and support!!

This is a beautiful piece of work and to me it reminds me a lot about how to think about animation. The ups and downs and the added variations in texture and timing is what makes it so pleasing to the eye!

Gearing up For Double Negative!

Wrapped everything up in Berlin and made my way to Stockholm for some vacation. I miss the team and the people I met in Berlin so much it hurts! I had the privilege to team up with some extraordinary people not only on a professional but also on a personal level!

Now, unpacking my bag and getting ready to be in London for Double Negative in less than 2 weeks! SUPER excited about the project and the studio!!!

If 2008 was a roller coaster, 2009 is doing whatever it can to top that. So far it's doing a great job :) I have a few more candies in the box that I can't share with you quite yet. But stay tuned :)

Hope you all had a colorful and tasty summer!
See you hopefully in a couple of weeks with more updates.

Ps. A lot of people asked about when and how "Gruffalo" will be screened for the public. What I know so far is that it's supposed to air on TV in UK this Christmas..

Heloooo!!!
So since April I'm hired by Studio Soi in Berlin and together with the awesome crew we are working on a short film based on a children's book called Gruffalo.

The film is for BBC and will be aired in December. It is busy times and I'm truely in love with the city and the people I've met o far. Sadly it will be over soon as we are getting closer and closer to wrappig up the animation for the show. I will miss the time here like crazy!!

One of my closest friends Tommie Löfqvist animated this spot for Milford just recently.

We found this clip on YouTube were Trey, a small charming little fella was filmed during watching the clip on TV.
Just as in Monsters Inc, I know I'm speaking for a lot of people when I say his laughter re-charged all our batteries. Man, this is so wonderful!

This is food for an animators soul.
Way to go my man and the Milford crew.

Hi all,
It's been a while since my last post. But finally (I can't belive I'm actually typing this) my short is finished. It's a strange feeling.. The last two years have been a never ending roller coaster..
There were times I was so down at the bottom I never thought I would EVER be able to go through with the whole thing. I guess keep listening to Curtis Mayfield's "Move On UP" helped me keep on going :)
I would like to thank every thought, every mind, every soul, every heart and every single word from those who supported me during this journey and my mentors for their guidance! The result is far from perfect but it's a result of your love, patience and contribution to my life so far! And I'm so happy you're part of it!
I hope you enjoy the 2:15 minutes you helped me accomplish :)

ps. I'm planning to put up a seperate site with video refs, storyboards, planning sketches and things like that. It could be fun to go back and have a flash once in a while.. First, I need to spend a few days at a spa! :)

A lot of people have been asking when the final version of my shortfilm is ready for screening. Just wanted to let you know it's not so far away. It is right now going through the rendering phase and hopefully within a couple of weeks, things will wrap up. You know I'm not the most experienced lighter/renderer so it is a lot of trial and error (aaaaarrgghh#/%!##&!!) and that takes time..
Meanwhile, here's some screencaptures of some of the shots just to give a slight idea of the look and style and also to tease you even more :)

Probably the most overwhelming and surreal achievement of my carrier so far! It's funny how small you feel when something quite big happens to you.

Graduating, meeting everyone in real life, getting your bald head burnt by the sun AND getting awards for both "Best Dialogue Acting" and "Mentor Choice Award", at the same day, is quite a trip for a man with already low blood pressure.
My most humblest Thanks to everyone who voted. To the ones who have supported and belived in me. To my mentors and peers who have challenged and pushed me forward. And not least thanks to Carlos, Sean, Bobby and the AM staff for opening the door and showing the path!

Now, I need to wear a ridiculous hat while trying to look cool at Venice beach... :|
